SABROSO - SPECIALTY FOOD PRODUCTS
Our region is heavy in agriculture with chiles and pecans being the lead consumable crops. Pistachios are also locally grown as well as a variety of onions, cabbage, corn, lettuce and melons. El Paso and Las Cruces both have terrific farmers markets where these seasonally grown crops and other locally produced goods are available for purchase. The area has also developed an ideal wine growing environment and a handful of excellent wineries have established themselves as premier producers of the fermented juice. A good number of specialty food stores and markets provide the public access to this local produce and wine as well as other hard to find gourmet food products not typically found at the average grocer. |
